Welcome!!!

Fasterpc101: All the guidance needed to optimizing the speed of your computer.

Computers are built to be fast but without the right care and maintenance they will eventually slow down, start to crash frequently and cause a lot of unneeded stress.

But all of this can be avoided with right methods. It doesn’t matter what kind of PC you have, you could have an old Compact Presario (the worst computers in the world) or even an old computer you got for like 150 dollars that you would assume couldn’t even get to the log on screen and at least get some decent web browsing, if the right methods are put into maximizing and maintaining the best performance.

A common misconception about fast computers is that they are solely based on hardware which are tangible parts of the computer such as the processor, hard drive, CD ROM drive, etc. That is exactly what was written, a misconception, and is not true. The is arguably the main reason a computer starts to slow down and it’s the users responsibility to keep their computer at top speed. Various users use their computers for reckless reasons, draining the computer of its resources thus slowing it down. Having a slow computer doesn’t mean any of your hardware is malfunctioning it just means it’s not capable of performing the tough tasks it’s been asked to perform.

If you feel your computer is running slower than it should this guide will give you a few tip and tricks to help you get your system running fast again.

There can be many different reasons to why your computer is slowing down and each has a different solution.

Here’s a few of the most typical reasons a computer can slow down

  •    Lack of Hard drive space: too much media, software, or unwanted files, programs, etc. may be saved on your computer and make it run slow
  •    Not enough RAM(random access memory) to run the programs that are running: when this happens your system loses the resources needed to run at normal speed
  •    To many programs running in background: even though you have no programs running on your desktop there are still programs running and some of these programs could be taking up a lot of resources.
  •    Startup Programs:  If your computer needs to load up a lot of programs on its initial startup this can cause it to run slower than intended. Stop any unnecessary programs from starting up when your computer does.
